Gregor Timlin (BA (DIT) Dublin; MA (RCA) London) is Senior Research Associate at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design and lectures in design fundamentals at the Dublin Institute of Technology.

His research for the Helen Hamlyn Centre concerns aging, population change and the rise in late onset dementia in world populations. He is currently working to map user needs for people in all stages of dementia so that care home design and services can be better targeted to maintaining user ability and improving quality of life.

Gregor has a background in industrial design and applied design research. He practices as a freelance designer with “Propwork”, a design collective based in Sommerset House and has worked for numerous clients including, London Design Museum, WIL, The Barbican and the V&A.

Gregor was the inaugural winner of the Institute of Designers in Ireland Frank Ryan Bursary Award.
